My Church Growing Up
Immanuel Zion Lutheran Church, Albion, NE
I grew up Lutheran (ALC) before ELCA. A small country church that is still alive and well - 138 years old. I remember singing in Jr. Choir, attending Sunday school, VBS, Confirmation and even helping with VBS. I remember attending church and sitting in the second row. I had good memories (of what little I do remember). It was fascinating reading about the history of this little country church. I recognize some of the names and remember a little about the fire that burnt the original church in 1979. But I don’t remember attending Sunday school or church in the schoolhouse (which by the way I attended K-8).
