On Wednesday we took the KTX Bullet train to Busan. Two hours which would have normally taken about 6 hours by car or bus. We need this in America!
In Busan, we toured the United Nations Cemetery where we watched the raising of the UN Flag by the Korean Soldiers. This cemetery has all those who fought in the Korean War. Did you know that Koreans recognize Memorial Day on June 6th? And then on June 25th, there are events recognizing the Korean War.
We visited the fish market and saw all kinds of sea food Koreans eat (raw and cooked). Then we went to Gamcheon Cultural Village where during the Korean War, refugees were housed. These houses still occupy the families of refugees. They in turn created art to make a living and so now is a touristy spot.
Afterward, we took an air cruise to a tiny island and saw part of Busan from the air. What spectacular views! I will share more pictures and info about this later. After dinner we took a walk to the Bay 101 (entertainment for young people) and saw the bridge lit up. The views were spectacular!
The beach was really nice as there was sand castle art everywhere, Busan was a nice place to visit!
Thank you for sharing your trip!! I miss you & Korea! 💖💖💖
